San Diego sunshine

Every January I need a little break from the cold and inversion in Utah so I run away to California. Thankfully I have lots of family throughout Southern California who are willing to let me come stay for a bit. We are currently in San Diego enjoying the SoCal sun.
Today we went to the beach and had a little picnic on the sand.

Tank was too interested in sticks and rocks to want to eat.

Thank you Jesus for the Sun

Living in Utah during the winter months gets very long and depressing. The junk in the air seems to get worse every year and I seem to do worse with it every year. After weeks of not seeing or feeling the sun I get pretty down. I have a hard time seeing the joy in things. The sun has been shinning, its just the air is too thick for it to get all the way to me. I need the sun. There is something about feeling it on my body that makes me happy.
Today I am thankful because the sun is shinning and the air has cleared so I can actually feel the sun.
Thank you for the sun!

I know I haven't blogged in a few months and I have a few excuses for you... I couldn't write anything leading up to November 3rd. I had a lot on my mind but couldn't find the words to do justice. By the time I felt like I had words to write my computer broke and had to be sent off. 2 months later we finally got it back. So here I am ready to blog again.

For now I will post a few pictures to show you the fun that has gone on since October.

logic over instinct

I had good talk with a friend who is in his residency for pediatrics. I thought I needed some facts from someone that knows what they are talking about. He explained to me how the vaccine is made and the risks involved. The swine flu vaccine is made just like the seasonal flu vaccine, the only difference is the strain of flu virus in the vaccine. Instead of H2N3, H2N1, H1N4 (just an example) it just has H1N1. The risks are the same. 1 in 1,000,000 get temporary paralysis. About half get some soreness around the injection area and a fever that last for a day or two. He also told me the swine flu is killing people in there 20's and 30's. So I should definitely be getting the vaccine. For some reason I still have a little part of me saying I shouldn't get my kids vaccinated, but I am going to go with logic and get the shots.
